The answer lies in the five elements—wood, fire, earth, metal, and water—and in the balance of yin and yang. By consciously selecting and preparing your food, you can restore balance to your system—not through strict restrictions, but by taking pleasure in mindful enjoyment.

The balance of yin and yang also plays an important role:

  • Yin represents stillness, coolness, moisture, and substance,

  • Yang represents warmth, activity, energy, and movement.
